Teresa C. Cearley

Teresa C. Cearley, age 51, beloved daughter, wife, mother and Grove teacher passed from this life on July 14, 2021. Teresa was born on March 13, 1970 to Johnny and Patty (Kelsey) Yost in Oswego, Kansas. She grew up in Welch, Ok graduating from Welch High School in in 1988. She went on to attend Northeastern A&M College and then graduated from Northeastern State University with a Bachelors Degree in Education. On June 10, 1989, Teresa married the love of her life, Donny Cearley, in Welch, OK. The couple made their home in Grove, where Teresa taught at Grove Public School for 26 years. Teresa’s favorite past time was being a mom, and her whole life revolved around her kids and supporting them in their many activities. Whether it was Toby’s football or Myah’s dance or Trey’s baseball, she was always there cheering them on and loving them unconditionally. She also loved her cats very much. Teresa will be remembered for her laughter and contagious smile, kindness, keen ability to organize, beautiful singing voice, ability to tell captivating stories, exceptional brownies and loving her students like they were her own. In 2021, Teresa was awarded Grove Public School ECC Teacher of the Year and she devoted her life to educating and caring for her students. The world was a better place with Teresa in it and her absence will forever be felt. She is preceded in death by her grandparents. Left to cherish Teresa’s memory, her loving husband, Donny Cearley, children: Toby, Myah and Trey; her mother, Patty Yost of Vinita, OK, father, Johnny Yost (Shannon) of Welch, OK, her brother, Mitch Yost of Miami, OK, sister, Kellie Wallace (DeWayne) of Welch, OK, sister, Sierra Yost of Claremore, OK , step brothers Joe and Kyler and their families, inlaws, Phillip and Fran Cearley of Grove, and many loving nieces and nephews, Alicia, Maverick, Sawyer, Timber, Jaxon, Blake, Creid, Ridge, Sutton, Kelsey, Steven, Jak, Katherine, Chris, Cooper, Carter, Cameron, Logan and Bellamy. Visitation will be from 2-4pm Saturday, July 17, at Nichols-Stephens Funeral Service. Memorial services will be at 2pm Monday, July 19, 2021 at Grove’s First Baptist Church.
