Sharon R. Grider

Sharon Rae (Harris) Grider, aged 84, passed away peacefully on August 5th, 2025, at her residence Grandwood Assisted Living in Grove, Oklahoma, surrounded by her family and the amazing support of Tradition Hospice. Sharon was born on October 28th, 1940 to Emma Marie Forpahl Harris and Albert Howard Harris in Harper, Kansas. Growing up, her parents instilled in her a strong respect for family as well as a love for her friends and her community. In her life, Sharon devoted much of her time to her craft as a hairdresser. She worked in a multitude of salons in various towns. Her love for helping others look and feel their best led her to open her own in-home salon in Jay, Oklahoma. Those she helped were much more than customers or clients to her, and she treated them as such: with warmth, kindness, and an unwavering passion. Those who knew Sharon knew her to be exceptionally outgoing. A person she didn’t know wasn’t a stranger, simply a friend she hadn’t met. This ability to make friends out of every stranger led to her having life long friendships, and leaving a lasting impression on those whom she encountered. When she wasn’t working, Sharon passed her time with a multitude of hobbies. She was a natural and prolific seamstress, leaving those she loved with many pieces of her work. She frequently sewed her own dresses, which she wore to countless events with her square dancing club. She also enjoyed the outdoors, be it casting a line into an open lake or shopping around at the local garage sales. Sharon also had a deep love for her pets and took great care in looking after her beloved dogs. Family was everything to Sharon. She is remembered by her four children: Ronda Seidenberger and her husband Steve Seidenburger; Leteza Spradling and her husband Rex Spradling; Harlin Hale; and David Hale and his wife Jennifer Hale. Her memory is also carried on through her twelve grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren, each of which is touched by her endless warmth and love. She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, whose memories she carried with love throughout her life. Sharon Rae Grider will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing and inspiration to those who celebrate the joy she brought into the world. A service will be held on August 23rd, 2025 at 2 pm at the Legacy Event Center, 500 39th St in Grove, Oklahoma.
