Patricia 'Patty' Pope

Patricia J. ‘Patty’ Pope, age 69, of Grove Oklahoma passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Integris Grove Hospital. Patty was born in Edmond, Oklahoma on July 13, 1953 to Walter and Ann (Muse) Stein. She graduated from Moore High School and then attended Rogers State University. Patty was married to Larry Pope in 1999. Sadly, he passed away in 2019. Patty was full of life and energy. She was especially creative and artistic, often using her talents in decorating, crafting, and drawing. Her unique sense of humor made her a delight to those around her. She was a gentle, sweet lady, often quiet, but very generous and charitable, once even giving a car to someone in need. She adored animals, especially stray cats, which she lovingly cared for. Antiquing was also one of her great pleasures as well as spending time with her family by going on drives, shopping together and watching old classic movies. It was a particular delight to watch her grand-daughter, Autumn. Patty’s primary role and joy was being a mother to her three children-Ben, Brad and Tishra. In addition, Patty was very passionate about nutrition, having co-owned two separate health food stores in her 20’s. Later on, she found great delight in finding and selling items on eBay. In addition, she was continuously dreaming up new business ideas. She spent the last 10 plus years, being self-employed buying old homes which she greatly enjoyed remodeling and flipping with her husband Larry. She was brilliant at interior design and was able to use that skill in her remodeling projects. She loved including her family and others in all of her passionate pursuits. Patty was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Larry. Left to cherish her memory, her children Ben Claggett (Sara) of Louisville, Colorado, Brad Claggett (Kelly) of Grove, Oklahoma, and Tishra ‘Lizzie’ (Thomas) Osborne of Eustis, Florida; one grandchild, Autumn Claggett; and sister Vicki Dunlap of Sandpoint, Idaho. Memorial Services for Patty will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Nichols-Stephens Funeral Chapel. the family request that donations to 2nd Chance pet rescue be made in Patty's name.
