Jeff E. Thacher

Jeffrey Eugene Thacher, age 69, of Grove, OK, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, June 21st, 2022. Jeff was born on January 23rd, 1953, to Frank and Donna (Gilmore) Thacher in Topeka, Kansas, where he grew up and graduated from Topeka West High School. Following high school, Jeff studied at Washburn University. Jeff found his way to Neodesha, KS where he worked for Cobalt Boats. He worked his way up in Sales which took him all over the country. Jeff moved to south Grand Lake in the early 1990s. He was the Sales Manager at Harbors View Marina, currently known as Marine Max, in Afton, OK for 17 years until 2007. On April 22, 2000, he married the love of his life, Glorie Bitsko Webb in Broken Arrow, OK, and the couple made their home in Grove. For the last 11 years, Jeff has been a Realtor for REMAX Real Estate Agency in Grove. Something he not only excelled at but was extremely passionate about and garnered several awards for. He undoubtedly touched many lives and make many dear friends during his time there. Jeff was known as “Mr. Fix-It” not only to his family but to many surrounding friends and neighbors. He truly had a heart for helping people and did so freely. He was always ready and willing to lend a hand. A lifelong lake enthusiast, Jeff enjoyed boating, water sports and just being on the water. This was an activity he enjoyed immensely with his family, and they share many fond memories. He was known as the “grill master” and loved to prepare wonderful meals with pork tenderloin and salmon being among his specialties. All describe him as always happy, life of the party, and an avid “happy hour” enthusiast. He loved to joke around, make silly sounds, play pranks, and make people laugh. His smile was infectious. He was an avid sports fan and loved all sports, but the Kansas City Chiefs were especially dear to him. More than anything else, Jeff loved and provided for his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father to his 3 girls and stepson, and an amazing papa to his grandkids. He will be remembered for his legacy of love and laughter, and immeasurably missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Mike Thacher, and stepson, Christopher Webb. Left to carry on Jeff’s legacy, wife, Glorie Thacher, of the home; 3 daughters: Amanda Webb of Cleora, OK, Corban Harrington (Marc) of Redding, CA, and Erin Thacher (Evan Williams) of June Lake, CA; daughter in law, Lesia Webb of Owasso, OK; 4 grandchildren: Mya, Tye, Beckett, and Brennan. Brother, Terrence Thacher (Diana), of Topeka, KS and sister, Kim Lewis (Dan), of Houston, TX. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, July 6th, 2022, at Nichols Stephens Funeral Chapel in Grove, OK. The service will be followed by a gathering at 2:00 pm at Jeff’s favorite happy hour spot, Mulligans at Patricia Island. Family requests that donations be made to 2nd Chance Pet Rescue or the Grove Chapter of the American Legion. Arrangements entrusted to Nichols Stephens Funeral & Cremation Services.
