Gene Allen Davidson

Gene Davidson, 71, passed away on June 10, 2025, in Afton, Oklahoma. Born on August 8, 1953, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Gene lived a life marked by service, dedication, and a deep commitment to his community and faith. Gene graduated from U.S. Grant High School in Oklahoma City before continuing his education at Oklahoma State University. Following his academic pursuits, he proudly served in the United States Air Force for six years, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. His time in the military reflected his strong sense of duty and discipline—qualities that would continue to define him throughout his life. After completing his military service, Gene built a career as an oil field fisherman. His work ethic and hands-on expertise earned him respect among colleagues and peers in the industry. Known for being outgoing and personable, Gene was always willing to lend a hand or share a story with those around him. In August of 1986, Gene married Georgia Presley in Woodward, Oklahoma—a union that stood as a testament to love and partnership. Together they shared many wonderful years. A devoted member of Lake Center Baptist Church, Gene was actively involved in church life. He played bass guitar during services and found joy in cooking for the men’s prayer breakfast gatherings. His contributions to the church were not only acts of service but also expressions of his generous spirit and love for community. In his free time, Gene enjoyed fishing—a pastime that brought him peace and connection with nature. Whether casting a line or preparing a hearty meal for friends, he approached every activity with enthusiasm and warmth. Gene's legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Chorde and Shirley Davidson, brother, Chorde Davidson, Jr. and son, Dustin Davidson. Left to cherish Gene’s memory, wife, Georgia Davidson, daughters, Rhonda Presley of Edmond, OK and Sheri Compton (Travis) of Quapaw, OK and son, Skip Davidson (Trina) of Edmond, OK, sister, Tammy Cooper (Steve) of Ooltewah, TN, 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-7pm Wednesday, June 11, at Nichols-Stephens Funeral Service. Funeral services will be at 3pm Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Lake Center Baptist Church followed by burial at Rolston Cemetery. Donations may be made to Lake Center Baptist Church in Gene’s memory.
