Violet L. Rosenburg

Violet L. Rosenburg, age 77, of Grove, OK passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Ok after a sudden illness. She was born on July 24, 1938, one of seven siblings, to Hugh and Minnie (Anders) Day in Blackwell, OK, where she grew up and attended school. On March 21, 1960, she married the love of her life, Elmo Rosenberg, in Newkirk, OK and they spent 40 years together until his passing in 1999. Later, Violet went on to earn her LPN nursing license and devoted many years as a nurse at Integris Grove General Hospital. She was Baptist in faith and a member of Eastern Star. Crocheting afghans and making Indian dolls for her grandchildren brought her much joy in this lifetime. She was preceded in death by her: parents, 5 brothers, husband, a daughter and a step-son. Her loving family that remain: daughters, Joyce Covington of Grove, OK, Addie Melton of Tahlequah, OK, Cynthia Ice of Grove, OK; son, Harley Rosenburg of Rogers, AR; step daughters, Caroline Coffey of Hannibal, MO and Gloria Morris of Waldorf, MD; step son, Virgil Uplinger of Monroe City, MO; sister, Wanda Waymire of Jacksonville, AR, many grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Visitation for family and friends will be 9-10am Thursday, October 22, 2015 with funeral services immediately following at 11am at Nichols Funeral Chapel in Grove, OK.
