Jim Norris

February 16, 1950 - March 10, 2022

Jim Norris, III, age 72, of Grove, cast out his last lure at 5:18am, Thursday, March 10, 2022.  He left peacefully surrounded by his best friend and love of his life, Margo, his loving children and beloved grandchildren.   Jim was born on February 16, 1950, to James, Jr. and Willodean (Horton) Norris in Marshall, AR.  As a child, his family moved to Wichita, KS, where he graduated from West High School.  After graduation, Jim enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.  On September 12, 1969, Jim married Margo Mayo in Derby, KS and the couple made their home in Wichita, where Jim worked in Law Enforcement and Security for Boeing Aircraft until retiring in 2010. After retiring, the couple moved to Grove where Jim enjoyed fishing and boating.   Kind, funny, sarcastic and genuine were a few words that described Jim.  He was caring, patient and dedicated his recent years to caring for both of his parents.  He will be dearly missed.   Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Willodean Norris.  Left to cherish Jim’s memory, wife of 52 years, Margo; three children and their spouses, Jennifer and Aaron, Heather and Brad, and Brian and Emily. He was called “Pops” by his eleven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren who adored him and he loved beyond measure.  He also leaves behind his father, Jim Norris Jr, and one sister. Per Jim’s request there will not be a public memorial service.  The family requests donations in his name be made to the charity of your choosing.   The family would like to thank you for keeping them in your prayers during this very difficult time.  Arrangements entrusted to Nichols-Stephens Funeral and Cremation Services.
