    Halowene 'Hallie' Hoesli

    October 31, 1925 - June 17, 2020

    Halowene 'Hallie' Hoesli, formerly from Effingham, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, June 17,2020 in Wyandotte, Oklahoma where she had lived with her daughter and son-in-law for the past 4 years. Hallie was 94. She was born on October 31, 1925 to Melvin and Reesie (Field) Carpenter in Karnak, Illinois, one of six siblings. She grew up and attended school in Effingham. On April 28, 1942 she married the love of her life, Fred R. Hoesli in Charleston, Missouri, and made their home in Effingham, Illinois. They were married for 56 years until his passing in 1998. Hallie loved the Lord and was a prayer warrior. She attended the First Church of God in Effingham. Previously, she was a member of the Effingham Free Methodist Church where she enjoyed serving others in many ways, such as Youth Director, Christmas program director and Bible School. Hallie was kind, caring and selfless. Hallie was a hard working woman. She worked several jobs during her lifetime to help support her family. At the age of 63 she went to work at Walmart in Effingham when the store opened and worked there for 17 years until retiring at the age of 80 in 2005. Hallie was preceded in death by her husband Fred, her parents, sons Fredrick and Michael, 5 siblings and 3 grandsons. Left to cherish Hallie's memory; daughter Sandra Cummins (Dan) of Wyandotte, Oklahoma and son David (Kathy) of Effingham, Illinois; 4 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren and several nieces. Services will be on June 27, 2020 at 11:00 am at The First Church of God in Effingham, Illinois. Johnson's Funeral Home is handling arrangements in Effingham.
