Carolyn Gail Buckmaster

April 17, 1942 - December 29, 2021

Carolyn G. Buckmaster, age 79, of Grove, Oklahoma went to be with Jesus and was joyously reunited with her husband Jerry on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. Carolyn was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on April 17, 1942 to Lewis and Margaret (Spence) Cantrell. She graduated from Miami High School in Miami, Oklahoma and went on to attend several colleges including NEO, NSU, Missouri Southern and OU, earning several master’s degrees. Her career in education spanned many decades. She taught English, Spanish and Reading as well as a Librarian. She most recently taught at Colcord Schools where she retired after many rewarding years. She spent most of her life in the northeast Oklahoma region except for the time she and her husband Jerry were in Germany during his service years. They also lived in Miami, Stigler, Muskogee and West Siloam Springs. She and Jerry moved from West Siloam Springs to the Grove area after her retirement. Jerry sadly passed away in 2019. Before his passing, they enjoyed traveling and family outings. Currently she spent quiet times reading, playing cards and talking on the phone daily with her sisters. She was a strong woman with a rather shy demeanor until one got to know her. She was very intelligent, loving and kind, and adored spending time with her cherished grandchildren and family. She will be greatly missed. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jerry, and daughter Jana Bifulco. Left to cherish her memory, her daughter Marla Stidham of Grove; granddaughters Kayse (Levi) Miller and Jessi Stidham, all of Grove and grandson Joshua Barger of Miami, Oklahoma; siblings David (Dalene) Cantrell of Claremore, Sheri (Don) Allen of Miami, Sandi (Dan) Urban of Grove, Judi Shelton of Miami, Rick (Jan) Cantrell of Haskell, Oklahoma, and Steve (Toni) Cantrell of Casa Grande, Arizona; many nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.
