Arbra L. Pope
June 2, 1945 - May 9, 2021
Arbra Lea Pope, age 75, passed from this life into the arms of her Savior on Sunday, May 9, 2021. She was surrounded by those who loved her. She was born a twin on June 2, 1945 in McDonald County, MO to Walter and Opal (Tinnin) Cantrell. Her precious twin, Barbara died as an infant. Arbra attended Grove Public Schools and later moved to Ulysses, Kansas. On March 7, 1968 Arbra married the love of her life, William “Harvey” Pope in Belleville, KS. Arbra was primarily a homemaker and was a loving wife to Harvey and mother to her five adored children and her twenty-four grandchildren and multitudes of greats and great-greats. After her husband Harvey passed away, she moved back to the Grand Lake Area in 2007. In keeping with the reputation of a freckled face redhead, Arbra embraced the ‘Ginger’ completely and was an exceptionally feisty one, described as a ‘spitball of fire’. In her later years she enjoyed puzzles, coloring books and church. She was endearing to all who met her. Those waiting on her in Heaven are her parents, husband Harvey, her twin sister Barbara, son Terry Cantrell and brother Jimmy Cantrell. Left to cherish her memory; daughter Vicki (Harold) Shorter of Jay, Oklahoma, son Clinton (Jennifer) Bowers of Grove, son Jason (Jennifer) Pope of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, daughter Cynthia (Augie) Valdez of Ulysses, Kansas, and daughter-in-law, Charlene Cantrell of Grove; sister Bonnie Harper for Grove, brothers Charlie Cantrell, Bob Cantrell and Ray Cantrell all of Grove, and Cecil Cantrell (Wanda) of Springfield, Missouri. There will be a visitation from 5pm – 7 pm Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Nichols-Stephens Chapel 10201 US Hwy 59, Grove, Oklahoma, followed the next day by funeral service at 1 pm Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Grove Christian Center with David Knox officiating. Burial will be in Lee Cemetery, Gravette, Arkansas.
