Tim Thomas Montgomery

Tim Thomas Montgomery, age 57, of Grove, Oklahoma, passed away on July 4, 2026 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after battling cancer. Born on June 13, 1969, in Lamar, Colorado to Carl and Janie (Stevenson) Montgomery, Tim grew up in a family that cherished creativity and craftsmanship. His father worked in the oil industry and their family traveled the world. He attended boarding and trade school in England, where he learned his skills as a master craftsman and carpenter followed by completing his education at Collegio Internacional de Caracas (CIC-Caracas) high school in Caracas, Venezuela. Tim met the love of his life, Sue Mandeville, in Plano, Texas and they were married on January 6, 2001, in St. Lucia. They made their home in Plano, where Tim worked at an Italian furniture manufacturer, again honing his extraordinary wood working skills. In 2013, Tim and his family moved to Grove, where Tim was a self-employed cabinetmaker, known for his exquisite handcrafted high-end furniture under his business name, Sawtooth Carpentry. His work not only beautified homes but also reflected his deep commitment to his craft. Beyond his professional life, Tim was a beloved figure in his community and family. Described as goofy, happy, easy-going, and friendly, he was a true animal lover and an artistic soul who never met a stranger. His hobbies included deer hunting, scuba diving, and snow skiing. He was an involved parent, enthusiastically supporting his daughter Maddie's cheerleading, student council (COW week) activities, many other school activities for GHS class of 2027, and shared his love for hunting with her. Tim also custom built his parents' craftsman style home with extraordinary attention to detail, showcasing his exceptional skills and love for his family. Tim is survived by his parents, his wife, Sue Montgomery; his daughter that he adored, Maddie Montgomery, all of Grove, Oklahoma; and his sister, Kim Bubier of Decatur, Indiana. A casual come and go celebration of life will be held on August 9, 2026, from 2-5 pm at Boom restaurant, where friends and family can come and gather to honor Tim and share memories.
