Richard "Dick" Bryant

Richard Lee Bryant, affectionately known as Dick, passed away on May 18, 2025, at the age of 85 in Grove, Oklahoma. Born on June 24, 1939, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, he was a vibrant and outgoing individual who became a beloved figure in each of the various communities in which he lived. Dick's early life was marked by his education at Ponca City High and further studies at Pittsburg State. For many years, Dick dreamt of becoming - and passionately pursued - the career of a calf roper. He went on to proudly serve in the US Army Rangers, a testament to his dedication and resilience. He began his professional career as a line printer for the Denver Post. He then advanced to Pennwell Printing as manager of the printing department. Later in life he took the advice given to him by many, "You need to be in sales". This was his true calling, which allowed him opportunities to express his gregarious personality and exceptional love for people. Dick became a highly successful sales professional for Brown Printing Company in Tulsa, Ok, retiring at the age of 62. Dick lived a full and adventurous life, including sailing and boating, building a dream house at Grand Lake, wintering on South Padre Island for more than two decades, (where he was often referred to as Mayor). He most loved - listening to good music, dancing, and spending time with numerous friends. His passion for the water was matched by his dedication to his family, with whom he shared close, loving relationships. Dick attended Foundation Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Bryant, brother, Jon Mack Bryant and son, Beau Bryant. He leaves behind his loving wife, Charlene Bryant, six children, Teresa Moore and husband, Craig Moore; Ron Criswell; Karen Criswell; Rick Bryant; Catherine Criswell Spear and husband, Michael Spear and Jeremy Bryant; sister, Billy Jo Case; grandchildren, Max and Madeline Moore, Markie Neville and husband, Nick, Audrey Anderle, Zach Spear, Richard Bryant and wife, Valentina Fokina Bryant, and Chase Bryant and wife, Courtney Bryant, as well as great grandchildren, Zoe and Emma Bryant, Vivian Bryant and Kayah Bryant. Dick's legacy is marked by his outgoing personality, his ability to tell captivating stories, and his deep love for his family and friends. He will be remembered as a charismatic and beloved figure who made a lasting impact on everyone he met. A Celebration of Dick's life will be held from 1-4pm June 21, 2025, at his favorite restaurant, The Road Hog, on Monkey Island.
