Mary Louise Morris

Mary Louise Morris, 89, of Grove, Oklahoma, passed away on August 12, 2026. She was born on February 8, 1937, in Afton, Oklahoma, to Lovie and Ella (McElhany) Rowe. Mary dedicated many years to her career, initially working as a laundress at the Betty Ann and Grand Lake Manor Nursing Homes starting in the late 1960’s. In 1981, she transitioned to Grove General Hospital, where she served in the housekeeping department until her retirement. An active member of her community, Mary was involved in the Assembly of God Church in Grove, where she served as a youth group leader for many years. Later in life, she joined Faith Church, continuing her engagement in spiritual and community activities. When her health prevented her from attending church, she always made a point to continue studying her bible faithfully. Mary loved flowers and, she took great delight in her three beautiful flower gardens and spent many hours working in them, as well as picking up pecans from her trees. She was also known for her fabulous cooking abilities thoroughly enjoyed cooking for family, friends and events. Mary lived a life marked by kindness, laughter, and service to others. She will be deeply missed by her family, including her son Johnny Lee Adams and his wife Mandy of Grove, OK; daughter-in-law Donna L. Adams of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren, Travis Lyle, Joshua Lyle, Justin Adams, Jim Meissen, and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She leaves behind a host of friends who will cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Annabelle Rowe, Gladys Presley Iddings, Wanda June Blalack, Wayne 'Cowboy' Rowe, and Howard Rowe; her husbands Lee Roy Adams, Robert Killingsworth, George A. Morris; her daughter Sandra Lovella Lyle; and companions Steve Gilbreath and Bill McNeilly. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 5 - 7 PM and Funeral Services at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, both at Nichols-Stephens Funeral & Cremation Services in Grove, OK. Nichols-Stephens Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements. Mary’s life and legacy will be honored as she is laid to rest, surrounded by those who loved her dearly.
