Jean 'Jeanie' Takacs

Jean Ann Takacs (previously Bruckner), affectionately known as Jeanie, passed away on April 1, 2026, in Grove, Oklahoma, at the age of 79. She was born on August 4, 1946, in Elgin, Illinois to Richard and Doris (DePew) Bruckner. Jeanie moved to Grove in 1976 where she spent the majority of her vibrant life. Jeanie's career was as diverse and dynamic as her personality. Initially working as an over-the-road truck driver, she was excited to make numerous hauls to Alaska. She later served the Grove community as an animal control officer before becoming a Certified Med Aide at the Grove Nursing Center. In addition to her professional endeavors, Jeanie owned and operated her own embroidery business, showcasing her artistic talents. Beyond her professional life, Jeanie was deeply involved in her community. She had been a dedicated member of the local Posse group, which supported disadvantaged children and participated in various charitable activities. She met and married the love of her life, Frank Takacs, during her years with the Posse. She and Frank enjoyed many motorcycle rides and social activities together. After Frank's passing, she and Ralph 'Unk' Hall became life partners. He also recently preceded her in death. Her interests and hobbies, besides motorcycling, included professional embroidery, and leather work and repairs. Always the adventurous one, she enjoyed horseback riding and all outdoor events as well as spending time with many friends. A fan of wrestling and game shows, she also found solace in later years through word search puzzles and indoor activities. Possessing a boundless sense of humor, Jeanie's life was marked by her fun-loving spirit and her readiness to embrace challenges, earning her many friends and admirers. She is survived by her son, Rodney Cullins of Grove; her sister, Jan Bruckner of Grove; brother Gordon Bruckner and wife Vera of Sycamore, Illinois; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, as well as a host of friends. She will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Brian Cullins; her husband, Frank Takacs; and her loving partner, Ralph (Unk) Hall. Details regarding the memorial services will be announced later. Nichols-Stephens Funeral & Cremation Services in Grove, Oklahoma, is assisting the family during this time. Jeanie's life and legacy will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew her.
