Harvey E. Miller

Harvey Miller, age 64, of Grove, OK passed away unexpectedly on July 5, 2022. Harvey was born on October 1, 1957, to Enos and Katie (Byler) Miller in Delaware, where he grew up and attended school. On March 11, 1976, Harvey married the love of his life, Miriam Miller, in Wyoming, Delaware and the couple made their home in Dover where they raised their family of 10 children. There, he worked as a Salesman for DelMarVa Pole Building Company. Known for his inspirational advice, his twinkling sense of humor, and his genuine care for everyone around him, Harvey will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. He never missed an opportunity to spend time with his children and grandchildren whenever he could, spending hours fishing, providing endless swing set pushes, attending baseball games, and telling tales of how he “did the dishes when he was a little girl.” Harvey spent his life working as a carpenter and became an expert fixer of all things. He found any way possible to pass those skills and his hardworking nature onto all of his children. He spent his last few months enjoying his new home in the Oklahoma countryside where he found great joy in fishing, gardening, and exploring. Greatest of all, while Harvey was never shy about sharing his love for God, he truly believed the only way to prove his faith was to live by example. Through humility, grace, and continued sacrifice, he proved to the world around him his commitment to his Heavenly Father. He believed that the only way to happiness was through steadfast love of others. He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 46 years, Miriam Miller and their children: Verba Miller, Willis Miller (Karen), Martha Miller, (Fiancé Donald Crouch), Ruth Ann Jones (Rourke), Christina Beachy (Stephan), Melissa Miller, Elisabeth Miller, Matthew Miller (Janae), Keri Pennell (Vince), and Jason Miller (Angie) and his greatest joys, his twelve grandchildren: MacKenzie and Arianna Miller, MJ Youngblood, Declan Cottingham, Reece Jones, Alex, Nicholas, and Zachary Beachy, Dakota, Jack, and Griffin Pennell, and Braylen Miller. He is also survived by one brother Sam Miller (Janet), and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Enos and Katie Miller, and his sister, Lizzie Ann Mast and infant daughter, Margaret. Visitation will be from 3-5pm Sunday, July 10, and funeral services will be at 10am Monday, July 11, 2022, both at Nichols Stephens Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at North Olympus Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Nichols-Stephens Funeral & Cremation Services.
