Charles "Ed" Ourlser

Charles Edward "Ed" Oursler, age 85, passed away on April 2, 2026, in Grove, Oklahoma. Born on May 20, 1940, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, Ed had a strong work ethic that was passed on to his children. He lived a short time in Blackwell, OK before he and his parents relocated to El Dorado, KS where he attended school, graduating from El Dorado High School in 1958. After high school, Ed served his country in the US Navy for three years before joining the National Guard, dedicating himself to both military and civilian duties with equal passion. Ed’s first wife Caryl passed suddenly early in the marriage. Ed then married Linda Sanders in 1967. Together they raised three children. Ed and Linda were married 58 years. After the Navy his professional life began at Safeway El Dorado, KS and then several years at the Gas Service Co. During this time Ed attended Butler County Community College and graduated with an associate’s degree. Ed then started and owned his own business, KMC Services. The final 13 years of his career were spent at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas, where he was a supervisor and inspector. Ed was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, boating and camping with family and friends. He also enjoyed skeet shooting. Another passion was restoring classic cars, including a 1923 T-Bucket Roadster and a 1936 Nash and many others. As a member of the El Dorado Classic Cars Club in Kansas his cars received various recognitions. Ed and Linda enjoyed many trips together. After retirement they looked forward to winter in Texas where they met many new friends. Ed attended St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Grove, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Sanders) Oursler; children, Kevin Oursler (Lee) of Lampe, MO, Marcia Muncy (Dennis) of Wichita, KS, and Cara West of Kansas City, KS; grandchildren, Jared Oursler, Matthew Muncy (Brandy), Erica Muncy, Rachael Maring (Kyle), and Dakota West; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carole Nordyke of Hugoton and many nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Muriel Oursler; his first wife, Caryl Oursler; and granddaughter, Brooke Muncy. No services are planned currently.
